While emergency conditions cannot be fully
prevented, good planning together with effective photoluminescent
signage and path guidance systems will ensure safe and successful
building evacuations.
Powered emergency lighting and signage are
known not to perform as expected when called upon during fire
and similar disasters. These systems have also been shown
not to operate effectively in smoky conditions and are easily
blocked by smoke that may create total darkness or very dense
fog-like atmosphere thereby dramatically reducing visibility.
The main focus has been providing low
level emergency escape lighting for ships, office towers,
hotels and public settings that may be the site of a significant
life safety threat in a blackout, fire or explosion.
The objective of an emergency guidance
system is to provide the building occupants with a highly
visible and easily understood exit route no matter where in
the building they may be located. Continuous guidance systems
are designed to reduce disorientation, avoid panic and allow
swift evacuation of the building even under extreme conditions.
Luna Glow products
are non-toxic, non-electric, non-radioactive and environmentally
friendly. They are also easily installed and maintained, and
signage can be supplied on any base material including aluminum,
steel and "Foamex",
a proprietary Lumenite substrate that will not support combustion
or produce the toxic chlorine gas.
